Melon Snails
The most low-key option on this site — no venom, no sting, just quiet observation. A solid starting point if you’re new to invertebrates altogether.
Centipedes
Australia’s home to a striking range of native centipedes, from the colourful Westwood’s Green Centipede through to the Australian Giant Centipede species. Every centipede on this site is venomous and shouldn’t be handled, but they’re genuinely rewarding display animals.
Spiders
Four very different Australian spiders, from the relatively harmless huntsman through to species that need careful, confirmed identification before you buy. Handling advice varies a lot by type, so check the specific page rather than assuming anything’s safe to pick up.
