Glass and Wooden Reptile Cages
GLASS reptile cages are good for semi-aquatic species. If you intend to buy a Wooden Melamine reptile cage we suggest that you use a tiny dab of silicone around all the timber joins to stop water from seeping into the holes and swelling the timber.
WOODEN reptile cages are very good at containing the temperature inside compared to glass cages as warmth escapes through glass faster than wood. In terms of price, both types are about the same.
One very IMPORTANT POINT you should understand about reptile enclosures is that they need adequate ventilation. Sufficient ventilation implies that there will be no moisture buildup within the glass confines. Ventilation is vital as humid conditions for most snakes and lizards that live in desert environments will result to respiratory illness.
Both our Melamine Wooden and Glass Reptile Tanks available at our store have the recommended level of ventilation allowing adequate airflow. Regardless of what kind of enclosures you pick you should include the right sort of lighting and heating as required by the reptile you are keeping.
