GLASS reptile tanks are easier to clean than Melamine Wooden Tanks, and glass would last longer than wood.

GLASS tanks are more suitable for semi-aquatic reptiles. It is recommended that if you buy a Wooden Melamine tank, you seal it with a bit of silicone around all the timber joins to stop water from getting into the spaces in between that will lead to swelling of the wood and damage to the tank.

WOODEN tanks are much better at holding temperature as warmth escapes through glass faster than wood. Concerning the price, both types of tanks are comparably the same.

How much ventilation is required for your reptile tanks?

A basic rule is to make sure there isn’t condensation on the inside glass of your reptile enclosure. If there is, it usually means that there is inadequate ventilation. It usually happens when there is a warm environment, a water bowl, and a lack of ventilation holes or wire grills to let the moisture escape, increasing the humidity level. A high humidity level for most Australian species of reptiles will cause respiratory problems.
