Unfortunately, many captive reptiles become infested with mites because they lack natural defenses. We discuss and offer some solutions for combating mite infestation in captive reptiles.

What are Mites?

Mites are tiny insects, that attach themselves to the host’s skin, feathers, or hair. The mite may also burrow into the epidermis, where it will feed on the host’s blood.
